Falher and Donnelly
started as one town.
The Colony of Saint Jean Baptiste Falher was founded in 1912. As more settlers arrived it divided into the Town of Falher and the Village of Donnelly, which is why the two sit eight kilometres apart today.
Falher calls itself the Honey Capital of Canada, and the bee on the highway has been telling people so for years.

two different offices.
Building something in Falher? A deck, a garage, a shed or a basement development all need a development permit, and the Town is the office that issues it.
The Town does not issue electrical permits. Those come from a safety codes agency accredited by the province. So one job in town can need both permits, from two different places, with separate fees.
The Town also charges double if the work has already started, so it pays to sort this out before anything gets built. The Town office is 780-837-2247. If you want to know which permits your job needs, call us.
